JEDDAH
— Crime Busters secured a Team of the Week and men’s Bowler of the Week double with the lead to boot during the third session in the OFBC (Overseas Filipino Bowlers Club) Friday Afternoon League Season 8 at the Iceland Bowling Center here.

Crime Busters returned the top tally of 28 points on total pinfalls of 2,665. Back-to-back Team of the Week, and defending champion RTJ Transient House failed to prevent losing the league leadership to Crime Busters after a modest 18 points for the session.

Tied for second place on the day were Casadores and Lucky Ones who both compiled 23 points on respective total pinfalls of 2,470 and 2,446.

Spareshots carded 22 points and total pinfalls of 2,437 while Young Once had 17 and 2,355, SGH Bowling Group 9 and 2,219 and Forever Living 4 and 1,759.

Randy del Remedios carded a Bowler of the Week award-winning display with his high series of 560 while leading Crime Busters to the third week honors.

Ryan Latigo and Vilma Miranda rolled three-game series of 539 and 513, respectively, to back up del Remedios, while Samuel Tesfal added 498 and team captain Mildred Tolentino came through with 463.

Tope Sayson bowled solid for Casadores on 549 to go with the 487 by Narcisoco Carandang, a pair of 481s by Ed Cordova and Fatima Jintarat and 472 by Ed Labuac.

Lucky Ones managed to get a share of the week’s honors, courtesy of Johara Palot who clinched the ladies Bowler of the Week plum after shooting 532 on lines of 168, 159 and 103. The other players who helped build Lucky Ones’ total were skipper Edwin Agustin 529, Rose Agustin 500, Roel Osman 454 and Monib Mogauan 431.

At Spareshots Danny Atubang led the way on 537. The other contributions came from Jon Belo 496, Carmen Duma 476, team captain Alex Duma 460 and Sergio Modar 458.

Skipper Joel Nidoy and Rico Bulalayao were the main men at RTJ with rounds of 530 and 503 but their effort did little to reverse a one-point deficit to Crime Busters in the team standings.

Marlon Peralta and Toto Lim fired 478 and 474 at the helm of Young Once that also drew 469 from Jaime Flores and 467s from Sheila Monserate and Vangie Lim.

Team standings (3rd week):

1. Crime Busters 76.0 points, 2. RTJ Baguio Transient House 75, 3. Spareshots 63.5, 4. Casadores 59, 5. Young Once 51.5, 6. SGH Bowling Group 49, 7. Lucky Ones 46, 8. Forever Living 12.0.
