Top teams shine in Amaq Cup

RIYADH — Top teams excelled in the opening week matches of the Amaq T-20 Cup 2017 Tournament, organized by Riyadh Cricket League (RCL) and sponsored by Amaq Contracting Co.

Fifty-four teams in different divisions are vying for honors in the tournament.

Premier Green League

Finfa Warriors prevailed over NourNet by 6 runs. Finfa Warriors tallied 184-5 in 20 overs. Ehsan scored an unbeaten 100 and Arif 25. Asghar took 1 wicket. In reply, NourNet was restricted to 178-9. Zahid scored a blistering 94 and was well supported by Asghar (53). Amer grabbed 2 wickets. Man of the Match – Ehsan Shakib.

Royal Fighters tallied 158-8 in a low-scoring match. Mustafa (30) and Ijaaz (29) were the main contributors. Salahuddin took 3 wickets. Hyderabad boys were restricted to 138. Ismail (50) and Salahuddin (32) showed some resilience. Madani K grabbed 3 wickets. Man of the Match — Madani Kazi.

Premier Blue League

Riyadh Pacers posted 184-7. Muzish (34) and Luqman (28) batted beautifully, while Younus took 3 wickets. In reply, Ahriff of South Indian Stunnerz scored 58 along with Arafath (47) as they successfully won the match in 15.5 overs. Salah and Jahangir took 2 wickets each. Man of the Match — Ahriff.

SNS Diamond scored 205-3 as Taib Afzal hit an unbeaten 100 and Shajji 55 not out. Amjad took 3 wickets. In reply, AHCSC showed some resilience as Rahmath scored 41. It was bundled out for 97. Shakeel took 4 wickets. Man of the Match — Taib Afzal.

Riyadh Zalmi recorded 121 in a low-scoring game. Salman (35) and Nisar (30) were the main contributors, while Mujahid took 4 wickets. In reply, Saud remained unbeaten on 34 and Sajid hit 24 as Black Caps gained a comfortable victory in 14 overs. Arqam and Usman took 3 wickets each. Man of the Match — Sajid.

Premier Yellow League

Young Evergreen went past Pak CC by 23 runs. Faisal contributed 51 with Husnain (36). Mohsin and Haider took one wicket each. In reply, Pak CC was restricted to 119. Mudasser scored 37, while Husnain grabbed 2 wickets. Man of the Match — Husnain.

Indian Blues tallied 120-4. Yaser was the top scorer with 23. Mubeen took 1 wicket. In reply, Nizamabad was restricted to 77. Mubeen topscored with 27. Younus and Yaser bagged 2 wickets each. Man of the Match —Yaser.

Premier Orange League

In a challenging game, Titans tallied 97. Gohar (25) and Jawad (25) were the run-getters. Zaki bagged 4 wickets. In reply, Gujral won in in 8.2 overs. Zaki batted beautifully for 28. He was well supported by Malik (20). Rehan took a wicket. Man of the Match — Zaki.

L&T Team scored 103 as Jay hit an unbeaten 37. Mateen took one wicket. In reply, King of Apparels completed the win in the last over as Mowana (36) batted well. Usama took a wicket. Man of the Match — Mowana.

Raptors posted a meager 63. Shoaib top scored with 34. Bawazir took 4 wickets. In reply, Pacific Blues showed its class as Bawazir scored a blistering 44 and completed the win in 8 overs. Tauseef got 2 wickets. Man of the Match — Bawazir.
