Hyderabad Sharks on top in CIT SPL

JEDDAH — Ace Travel, Banswada Ball Burners, Naseem Al-Zahra and Igloo Kashmir Stags excelled with contrasting wins in the 7th week matches of the CTI SPL T20 3rd edition as Hyderabad Sharks led the table with 14 points.

CIT SPL is sponsored by Canadian International Trading Company and co-sponsored by Initial Services, Air India, Hyderabad Sharks, Khind Electronics, Arrow Food Distribution Company (Mizo Juices) and PEPSI (SIPCO) and organized under the auspices of Jeddah Cricket Association (JCA).

Ace Travel fought hard to record a 3-wicket win over Saudi German Hospital as Safdar scored an impressive 89 off 40 balls (12 fours, 4 sixes) despite Bilal (80) and Jawad (62) laying a strong foundation for Saudi German Hospital tally of 203-7.

Hyderabad Sharks pipped Pepsi Deccan Knights both of whom were unbeaten before this match. Mohammed Shehzad capped a fine all-round performance — 77 off 32 balls (9 fours and 4 sixes) and with Yasir’s 70 off 41 balls (6 fours, 4 sixes) gave Sharks an 18-run win.

Banswada Ball Burners recorded a 5-wicket win over ICAD through Rana Shahzad’s all-round show of 40 runs and 2 for 25. It was ICAD’s second consecutive defeat.

Naseem Al-Zahra provided the biggest upset as it bundled out Malik XI Star One for 129 runs, courtesy of Yasin (3 for 15) and then Amer Shezad (unbeaten 69 off 36 balls with 7 fours and 4 sixes). It raced to 134 for 2 to win by 8 wickets.

Igloo Kashmir Stags edged KAIA with an 18-run win, thanks to Majid Butt (57 off 29 balls) and Wakeel (60 off 45 balls) who batted well in tandem.
