Ties will not improve with Modi govt at helm: Ex-Pak aide

— Relationships between Pakistan and India will not improve or become friendly with India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi in power said Pakistan’s former federal minister and President Pakistan Muslim League (Zia) Ejaz ul Haq at a luncheon hosted by Masood Ahmed Puri, senior member Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) and Chairman Kashmir Committee (KC) Jeddah, in his honor at Lasani restaurant Madinah Road.

Haq added that Pakistan and India are facing serious difficulties in their bilateral relations due to the current situation existing at the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir.

Turning to internal politics, he said if Nawaz Sharif had fought the Panama case legally then the situation in Pakistan would have beeen different, but it was fought politically which proved harmful for him. He said due to blaming the courts and institutions the situation worsened.

Ejaz ul Haq said, “PML-N is internally weak, there were four names proposed for prime minister and one succeeded. But the other three are prime ministers in their place. In response to a question, Ejaz ul Haq said that the United States has given millions of dollars to terrorists in Afghanistan for terrorism in Pakistan and we have been silent.

Aijz-ul-Haq son of late General Zia-ul-Haq former military ruler of Pakistan was visiting Saudi Arabia for Umrah and praying in Prophet Mosque Madinah. A large number of prominent members from Pakistan Muslim League-N and media persons attended.
