JEDDAH — The Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and industry (JCCI) presented awards to creative designers, who participated in DecoFair 2017, on Wednesday.
The DecoFair design awards were conducted by the (JCCI) Engineering Offices Committee for the second time.
The goal of giving such awards is to support those specialized in designs and engineering, develop their projects and to showcase them in public in order to create competition in designing.
Talal Samarkandi, manager of the competition, said: “We set up awards in three categories: the first one is the furnishing award in which every furnishing designer can participate and compete, the second award is for interior designs, where the scope is about any commercial project that has a space of more than 150 square meters, and the last one is the architectural design award, which aims at highlighting new creative ideas to solve the housing problem.”
The title of the last award is “Easy housing” and at the end of the day many excellent projects were displayed that could be adopted by the Ministry of Housing.
Samarkandi added: “This year 65 designers participated from the Islamic world, and we are improving these awards every year.”
