DecoFair 2017 shows interest in partnerships encouraged by reforms

JEDDAH — The ongoing DecoFair 2017 showcases innovation and excellence of Saudi and international companies in the field of home furnishings, design, décor, arts and supporting sectors.

The fair was inaugurated by the president of Um Al Qura University Dr. Bakri Assas at Jeddah Hilton Hotel on Monday.

Assas toured DecoFair pavilions in Jeddah Hilton Hotel Grand Hall with businessmen, and members of the organizing committee and reviewed the latest products of the participating countries and companies. Assas was briefed on the diverse and inclusive products in DecoFair.

The consul general of France in Jeddah Patrick Nicoloso took a tour around the various pavilions in DecoFair. Nicoloso was amazed and glad from the authentic arts and the classical music played by Saudi musicians at Arbab Alheraf pavilion. They are a group of young Saudi artists and musicians who aims to promote the beauty of arts and crafts in Saudi Arabia. Nicoloso expressed his happiness and said: ”DecoFair in Jeddah looks very great to have all these different crafts here and I am very happy to have a very good French corner with high quality handcrafts. DecoFair has high quality products. The fair is very interesting, and beautiful.”

DecoFair 2017 runs till Nov. 9 with the participation of more than 120 exhibitors representing 9 major specialized sectors in Saudi Arabia from 9 countries.

DecoFair showcases new various products in the fields of furniture, design, lighting, home accessories, textiles, upholstery, kitchen products, sanitary ware, designs and architectural services.

Haya Al-Sunaidi, chairman of organizing committee, said: “In DecoFair 9th edition, some international companies joined Saudi market for the first time, with the emergence of local alliances.”

Al-Sunaidi pointed to the need for more local coalitions to reduce imports and provide local products to meet Vision 2030 and contribute to increasing training and employment opportunities for Saudi youth.

Al-Sunaidi DecoFair further said the current edition is characterized by a strong base of companies keen to develop their presence in the Saudi market whether directly or through partnerships boosted by the recent reforms adopted by the Kingdom.

The fair receives visitors daily from 4pm to 11pm.
