Refusal to enter Jannah

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon on him) said, “All my nation will enter the Paradise except those who refuse.”

The companions asked, “O Messenger of Allah, who would refuse?”

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon on him) then said, “Whoever obeys me will enter Paradise and whoever disobeys me has indeed refused (to go to Paradise).” (Sahih Al Bukhaari, Vol. 9, Book 92, Hadith 384)

For many of us, we may have heard this Hadith before, and most of us believer that we are following both the Qur’an and the way of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), yet we fall into some common mistakes due to the many communication applications like What’s App and others. It is surprising how widespread these random messages have become on our smart phones, like “read these adhkhar one hundred times to get so and something beneficial is going to happen to you tomorrow or a certain wealth is coming to you,” Many of us rush to comply to do so. Other messages say that if you do not spread this Hadith of the Prophet (peace be upon him), you will be doomed to a life of misery and poverty. We hardly realize that doing so is just an act of innovation and we should restrain not only ourselves but also all those who do so from committing it, and we should stop the spread of these messages.

The above hadith should also serve as a wake-up call for those groups who only follow the Qur’an and they refuse to follow the traditions and sayings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). What they do not realize is that they are contradicting themselves because the Qur’an very clearly states,

{He who obeys the Messenger (Muhammad) has indeed obeyed Allah.} (Chapter 4, verse 80)

My dear readers, I humbly request you to take the above hadith seriously. Please realize that the above hadith is evidence for one of the greatest principles in Islam which states that one may not enter paradise unless they follow the path of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon on him). The Prophet (peace be upon on him) mentioned that by obeying him, one will enter paradise.

This is indeed an imperative issue, we should realize from the above hadith, that by rejecting the Sunnah you are in fact, rejecting paradise.

Allah Almighty states in the Holy Qur’an, {Say, (O Muhammad) If you love Allah, then follow me, Allah will love you and will forgive your sins; Indeed Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.} (Chapter 3, verse 31)

Imagine, Allah has tied His love with following and obeying the Prophet (peace be upon on him); which means that by not following the Prophet’s Sunnah one will not achieve the love of Allah.

Recall dear friends, that indeed our sole purpose on this planet is to seek Allah’s pleasure and nothing else, so that He, the Most Gracious, with His mercy will bless us with eternal paradise.

Remember that the Qur’an and the Sunnah are our guides how to live our lives. In order to be on the right path, one has to hold steadfast on to the Qur’an and the Sunnah.

We ask our Lord to make us among the people who obey Him according to the Qur’an. And we ask Allah to make us among those who obey our beloved Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon on him) according to his Sunnah, and to give us a place in the highest ranks of Paradise.
