Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, directors and executive producers of the hit NBC drama This Is Us and who also wrote and helmed the 2011 film Crazy, Stupid, Love, are entering the DC cinematic universe at Warner Bros. The duo are in final negotiations to pen and helm an untitled movie project centering on Batman villains Joker and Harley Quinn. Jared Leto and Margot Robbie are due to reprise their roles as the villains, among the most popular characters in the DC pantheon and which they first portrayed in 2016’s Suicide Squad.
Game Of Thrones wraps up its seventh and penultimate season this weekend, with the season finale airing on Sunday in the US and word is that the episode will the show’s longest yet. At 79 minutes and 43 seconds, the finale will be almost feature length, perhaps partially making up for the fact that this season only has seven episodes instead of ten. HBO also revealed the episode’s name: “The Dragon and the Wolf.” The Season 7 finale will feature a meeting of the warring forces of Westeros, houses Lannister, Stark, and Targaryen, in order to discuss how to deal with the threat of a White Walker invasion, as shown in a teaser for the episode.
Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi, who recently wrapped shooting Beyond The Clouds with Ishaan Khattar and Malavika Mohanan, will make his India-set film in three languages- Hindi, Tamil and English. Clearing earlier speculations about the leading actress in his movie, he said: “I want to work with Deepika, but for this film we’ll have to go with new faces,” he said. Majidi is best-known for films like Children of Heaven, The Color of Paradise and Baran.
NASA rockets to create glowing white artificial clouds next week. The clouds, which will be caused by NASA rockets, will appear for 30 minutes and will only be visible to residents of The Marshall Islands. NASA rocket mission to study disturbances in the upper atmosphere that interfere with communication and technology systems will form night-time white artificial clouds during two flights between August 29 and September 9.

Filipino film “Baka Bukas” topped the recent 29th Vancouver Queer Film Festival in Canada. The Cinema One movie won the Vancouver fest’s highest honor, the 2017 OUTtvGo People’s Choice Award for Best Feature. The fest’s website describes Samantha Lee’s film as a tender and funny love story. This year, the Vancouver queer fest screened 28 features and 42 short films throughout its 11-day run.
Couple’s message in a bottle travels 800 kilometres and reaches Gaza. The bottle travelled from Greece and was retrieved by a fisherman in Gaza city. Not only was it strange to be found but the couple had also left their email on the handwritten note to follow up on its journey.
