Starting this week, Snapchatters in Saudi Arabia and the UAE can design and submit custom Geofilters right in Snapchat!

Previously, Snapchatters had to visit the website on their desktop computers to create custom filters.

Now Snapchat has added a new creative studio located in Settings, which makes it easier for Snapchatters to choose from a variety of themed templates and create custom designs wherever they are, for any occasion. No Photoshop skills required.

Creating a Custom Geofilter in Snapchat

In Settings, select On-Demand Geofilters and choose your occasion (e.g. Parties, Weddings, Holidays, etc.).

Choose a template and easily customize your design with personalized text, Bitmojis, and now, Stickers!

Once your masterpiece is complete, mark the time, map the area you’d like the filter to cover, and hit Submit.

If your filter is approved, you’ll receive a notification from Snapchat to confirm payment.

Snapchatters can pay using In-App Purchasing for iOS or In-App Billing for Android, and will receive a push notification from Team Snapchat when the filter goes live.

Pricing starts at $5.99 USD, and depends largely on size and length of time.

Since launching the tool on the web in February 2016, tens of thousands of custom filters are now being created every day by Snapchatters for graduations, parties, weddings and anniversaries.

This offering is for consumers; businesses should continue to use our web tool at this time. We’re excited to continue offering new ways to make custom filters more accessible and fun!

Additional details:

Geofilters are fun, artistic overlays a Snapchatter can add to their photo or video Snaps before sending to friends.

Minimum area is 20,000 square feet -- small enough to cover an event or part of your block

Max area is 50,000,000 square feet -- essentially a few city blocks.

Review time is roughly 1 business day – and filters must follow both our Geofilter Guidelines and Community Guidelines.

Buyers will have access to a dashboard to check total swipes, total uses and total views.

The mobile custom filters tool is currently available to Snapchatters throughout the U.S., UK, Canada, Australia, Brazil, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

HBO’s Facebook and Twitter accounts were hacked by a group called OurMine, who also hacked the social media handles of many of the network’s shows, including Game of Thrones and Veep. The social media posts were removed shortly after they were posted.

“Hi, OurMine are here, we are just testing your security, HBO team please contact us to upgrade the security - ourmine.org -> Contact,” read the messages posted on both the social media platforms. For HBO, this is the latest in a line of many cyber security breaches which saw leaks of unaired Game of Thrones episodes, show scripts and other sensitive company information.
