MRI scanning unit launched at Jeddah National Hospital

JEDDAH – A magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanning unit was launched at Jeddah National Hospital (JNH). Dr. Ali Zahrani inaugurated the unit at a ceremony held at the hospital on Monday. The MRI facility will be available round the clock, said Zahrani.

V.P. Mohammed Ali, chairman and managing director of JNH, presided over the function. Speaking on the occasion, Mohammed Ali said that the hospital would extend maximum support to the patients who are in the low-income group.

He unveiled the hospital’s ambitious future plans. JNH will have its second hospital (JNH2) in Jeddah’s Gulail district near the industrial city within six months. Preparations are under way to launch a catheterization laboratory (Cath Lab) to carry out procedures including angiogram and angioplasty, and related surgical procedures for heart diseases in the near future.

Mohammed Ali, a prominent Indian investor, disclosed plans to open a dialysis unit at the hospital located on Macarona Street. The JNH Academy is providing BLS (basic life support) and CME (continuing medical education) services under the leadership of Dr. Amina. The academy also undertakes classes to learn and understand the Holy Qur’an in different languages such as Hindi, English, and Filipino. Classes on medical, social and religious topics are another highlight of the hospital’s social responsibility initiatives. The chairman also spoke about the humanitarian and charity initiatives being carried out by the hospital.

A booklet, featuring the medical facilities and services available at JNH, was launched jointly by Mohammed Ali and T.P. Shuhaib, CEO of Al Ryan International Polyclinics. Felicitation speeches were offered by Ahmad Zahrani, Saleh Zahrani, V. P. Shiyas, Mohammed Cheriyan, and Anwar. Earlier, JNH Vice Chairman Ali Mohammed Ali welcomed the gathering while Director Mushtaq Mohammed Ali proposed a vote of thanks.

A press conference was also held on the occasion of launching the MRI scanning unit. Those who attended the press conference included Mohammed Ali, Shuhaib, Dr. Ali Zahrani, Ali Mohammed Ali, Mushtaq Mohammed Ali, Naveed and Ashraf.

JNH, established in 2000, is one of the premium healthcare facilities in Jeddah, and most of the clients are expatriates.

About 30 well-trained and experienced staffers are employed at the Patients’ Relations Department to guide and cater to the needs of the patients at the hospital and this is a major highlight of the hospital, which has a 24-hour well-equipped emergency section.

There are several specialist doctors from India, Pakistan and other countries working at the hospital’s specialties including neurosurgery, neurology, cardiology, urology, general surgery, dental dept., ENT dept., gynecology and obstetrician, pediatrics, psychiatry, radiology, orthopedics, ophthalmology, and internal medicine.
