RIYADH — The Kingdom on Monday strongly condemned the missile attack on the American fleet destroyer USS Mason in the Red Sea off the Yemeni coast, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) quoted an official source as stating.

The attack was carried out by the Houthi-Saleh militia. The source described the attack as an act of terrorism that poses danger to international navigation. The militia is supported by Iran and is methodologically targeting international commercial navigation passing through Bab Al-Mandab waterway.

The source added that the latest attack follows a missile attack on an Emirati relief vessel earlier this month and the continuous attacks on civilians in Saudi border villages, apart from ballistic missiles targeting Saudi territories. "The last of these was fired toward Makkah Province on Sunday. They are continuing in their violation of agreements and treaties and non-abidance by what has been agreed on by the Yemeni people, including national dialogue. They are refusing to comply with the will of the international community in implementing UN Security Council Resolution 2216 and are carrying out acts that contradict the UN envoy's efforts to reach a political solution," the source concluded.
